Zi Wei Dou Shu vs Bazi
Zi Wei Dou Shu (紫微斗数) is a Chinese astrology system that maps stars into twelve palaces from your birth time. Bazi (八字) computes the Four Pillars — Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches — and derives the Ten Souls (十神).
Zi Wei Dou Shu is star-and-palace based (complex, 100+ symbols); Bazi is element-and-pillar based (simpler, ten archetypes). Both are Chinese, but Bazi's Ten Souls map more directly onto a modern personality framework.
Two Chinese systems, two goals
Zi Wei Dou Shu is a detailed chart of life domains (wealth, career, relationships) through stars and palaces. Bazi's Ten Souls read more like a personality framework — which is why DecaSoul built the 东方MBTI on Bazi rather than Zi Wei Dou Shu.
